WPP Tops WARC Creative 100 for Fourth Year Running in 2026

Four years in a row. That’s how long WPP has held the number one spot on WARC’s Creative 100, the annual ranking that serves as one of the ad industry’s most closely watched scorecards for creative excellence. The 2026 edition, released today, confirms that the London-based holding company isn’t just maintaining its lead — it’s widening the gap.
The engine behind the streak is no mystery. Ogilvy, WPP’s crown jewel, was named Network of the Year for the sixth consecutive time — a run of dominance that is becoming difficult for rivals to dismiss as a fluke. VML, meanwhile, landed in third place among global networks, and AKQA cracked the top 30, giving WPP three networks in WARC’s upper tier.
But the real story may be what’s happening at the individual agency level. Twelve WPP shops made it into the global top 50 agencies list, a spread that stretches from New York and Kansas City to Madrid, Lima, Mumbai, Singapore, Mexico City, and Paris. That kind of geographic breadth suggests the creative muscle isn’t concentrated in one or two offices — it’s distributed across the network in a way few competitors can match.
Among the campaigns that helped fuel WPP’s ranking, one stood out: “Vaseline Verified,” created by Ogilvy Singapore. The work, which placed among the top four creative campaigns globally, took a clever approach to a familiar challenge — how does a heritage brand stay relevant in a landscape dominated by user-generated content? The answer was to take the viral hacks consumers were already sharing about Vaseline Jelly and put them through scientific validation, turning internet folklore into brand-endorsed truth. It was a social-first play that rewarded consumer creativity rather than competing with it.
Rob Reilly, WPP’s Chief Creative Officer, pointed to the results as evidence of something beyond trophy-collecting. Awards, he said, are “the visible tip of the iceberg,” and that the company’s real focus lies in using creativity to drive growth for its clients.
That framing is deliberate. WPP recently announced the formation of WPP Creative, a structural bet that consolidates its creative agencies under one roof. The WARC ranking gives that move an immediate proof point — and a narrative the company will likely lean into as it pitches itself to CMOs as a unified creative partner rather than a loose federation of agency brands.
For the marketing industry watching from the US and Latin America, the results carry a specific subtext. Several of the agencies on the list — VML New York, DAVID New York, Ogilvy Health New York, VML Kansas City, VML Mexico City, Circus Grey Lima, and VML Madrid — operate in or serve markets across the Americas. In a year when clients are demanding both global scale and local relevance, WPP appears to have both cards in hand.
WARC’s Creative 100 is compiled from results across the world’s major creative award shows and serves over 75,000 marketers in more than 100 markets. It remains one of the few rankings that attempts to measure creative output with methodological rigor rather than subjective opinion — which is precisely what makes a four-year winning streak hard to argue with.
